Are you ready for battle in the New Year?
We can often find ourselves nurturing a burning desire to change. Change the way we are, change the things we do, and change the path we are taking in life. We can wake at the dawn of a new day and ask, Lord my desire is to write a new page today in my life. Have you ever said Lord, I am tired of doing the same old thing. I am tired of struggling financially, emotionally and spiritually? At times, our prayer can be Lord show me the way, show me the path, and give me the strength to make a change.
When we feel this way, a good place to start is from a place of thankfulness. Make a shortlist of all the things you are thankful for. Your prayer may be; Lord thank you for my health today, thank you for my family, and my families health. Thank you for my kids, and my wife for our home, and all the food and blessings you shower upon me.
Getting ready for battle is as simple as us knowing that God is with us. That he has prepared the way and He has never left us of turned His back on us. In Psalm18 God fortifies us, and reassures us that we are ready for the battle and that He has prepared the way. Proverbs 21:31 The horses are ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD. In Psalm 18:32-34 God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow.
In these verses, God shows us four very important things: 1-He has given us the strength we will need 2-He has prepared a safe way for us 3-He has made us surefooted as not to slip or fall 4- He has prepared us for the battle. Rest easy today knowing that God has already made us ready for the battle and has gone even further by preparing the way in this New Year.
Today's Prayer: Father thank you for the reassurance in your word today that I am already prepared for the battle. Lord guide me today and help me to remember throughout the day that you have given us all the blessings we will need, in Christ Jesus to face the day. Amen!
